Bosch in Japan strives to be the bridge connecting
Japan to the world and to a prosperous future

2011 is an especially important year for Bosch. Bosch began Japanese operations in 1911, making 2011 the centennial anniversary. Furthermore, the global Bosch Group will be celebrating the 125 anniversary of the company's establishment and the 150 birthday of the company's founder, Robert Bosch.

From the beginning, the Bosch Group has had a firm focus on securing the trust of stake holders. We continue this commitment today, keeping in mind the words of our founder, "I would rather lose money than trust." More than ever our innovations are guided by the strategic principle Invented for Life. We develop solutions not only to enhance the quality of life and improve safety, but also to protect the environment and conserve resources. Further, in the spirit of our founder, we continue to operate with strategic farsightedness and we entrust the majority of our company's shares in the hands of the Robert Bosch Foundation. Robert Bosch believed in striking a balance between economic and social responsibilities. Today, we build on this notion and include a greater consideration for the environment.

In Japan our main objective is to develop and sustain strong partnerships with our domestic customers. Deeply rooted in Japan, our operations include domestic development, manufacturing, sales and service. We use this as a basis to maximize our global network and respond to our customers in an appropriate and timely manner. We also educate the global Bosch Group about the Japanese "Monozukuri" (manufacturing) philosophy and in Kaizen (Continuous Improvement). In essence we are an important bridge between Japan and the rest of the world.
