To develop CSR activities of the Bosch Group in Japan and be trusted by stakeholders

The products contribution of the Bosch Group in Japan to achieve the sustainable society

Take, for example, Bosch's common-rail system: a fuel injection system for diesel engines, contributes to environmental protection as one that allows the engine to be quiet, economical, and clean, with fewer CO2 emissions. Safety systems including air bags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Combined Active and Passive Safety (CAPS), assure the protection of a vehicle and its passengers, using technologies providing passive safety, and helping the vehicle to avoid skidding and collisions. Bosch Rexroth AG offers Factory Automation (FA) components, which are indispensable for energy savings, such as the Basic Mechanical Element (BME), an aluminum frame providing a high-quality construction in response to the needs of clean-room facilities. Such products are in greater demand to improve the quality of conformance, and help eliminate static electricity in semiconductor manufacturing. Moreover, advanced packaging equipment from Bosch Packaging Technology Co., Ltd., plays a role in maintaining high levels of safety and quality standards with medical and food products. The Bosch Group in Japan has been contributing to safety in people's lives and pleasant surroundings through our products in various fields as described above. That is possible because the corporate philosophy formulated by the company founder Robert Bosch, namely, the "pursuit of superior quality" and the "spirit of contributing to society," is well rooted in the group.

Specific to the Bosch Group in Japan in relation to local communities

We believe that a company should carry out activities that contribute to the sustainable development of a society where people can lead secure lives, and should be a corporate citizen in local communities, hand-in-hand with neighborhood residents. As the Bosch Group is a company that owns factories in different regions, maintaining good relations with local people is very important. It is not only that our factory should not have an adverse effect on the local environment, but we have also been involved in local environmental protection and social activities.

The direction in CSR activities to which the Bosch Group in Japan is taking

Each company of the group has been developing individual activities so far, and we are going to integrate basic action policies and important points into the activities of the Bosch Group. We expect these activities to create long-term enterprise value that can be approved by our stakeholders.
