In 1939 Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd. was founded under a Bosch license for domestic production of fuel-injection pumps for diesel engines. Originally established with an investment from a then major Japanese manufacturer of engines for heavy-duty vehicles, this company was renamed ZEXEL Corp. in 1990, reorganized as Bosch Automotive Systems Corp. in 2000, and renamed to Bosch Corp. since July 2005. In August 1997 Bosch was the top shareholder in the company, and in April 1999 it acquired the majority of the shares. In July 2000 the automotive original equipment business that had been conducted by Bosch K.K. was transferred to the company. In July 2002 it merged with Bosch Braking Systems Co., Ltd. and Bosch Electronics Corp. to make a fresh start as the new Bosch Automotive Systems Corp.

Effective July 1, 2005 Bosch K.K. was merged into Bosch Automotive Systems Corp. In addition, the new entity changed its company name to Bosch Corporation effective July 1, 2005. We are confident that the merger will make it possible to provide our customers with better customer-oriented services and state-of-the-art technologies, while generating further synergy effects through the effective utilization of the business resources.

We aim to further strengthen our position as a key partner for Japanese customers and expand the good relationship with other Asian customers, providing know-how in the field of product development, production processes and quality management based in Japan as well as through taking maximum advantage of the Bosch Group's global resources, e.g. a solid development, production and sales network worldwide.
