11月30日（日）、秋らしいお天気で、紅葉がきれいな埼玉県・国立女性教育会館にて、ボッシュの社員とその家族を対象に、ドイツのクリスマスのお菓子「シュトレン」を作る会を実施しました。

その目的は、異文化を知り、交流を図り、理解を深めていくことです。主催したのは、全世界で展開するボッシュ女性社員組織「women@bosch」の異文化交流チーム。性別・世代・国籍など色々な人たちが、多様性を尊重し交流し理解を深めることで、ひいては皆が働きやすい環境を作っていくことを目指しています。

今回作った「シュトレン」は、14世紀のドイツ東部発祥の伝統的な焼き菓子。色々バリエーションがあるようですが、今回はドライフルーツやナッツがたっぷり入ったシュトレンを作りました。

日本人だけでなく、中国、ベトナム、ドイツ出身で、ご家族とともに集まり、国際色豊かな24名が参加しました。
講師3人（全員従業員）はパン作りのプロ？！のような方々で、準備から当日の後片付けまで奮闘いただきました。わかりやすい説明も好評でした。

午前中は生地を捏ねたり、ドライフルーツを入れて成形したり。
お昼にはシュトレンを焼いている間、皆でおむすびを握り、講師の畑で出来た無農薬野菜たっぷりのイモ煮汁や、参加者の手作りお漬物とともに頂きました。「人生で初めてのおむすび作り」という参加者もいて、わいわいと楽しんでいただきました。

焼き上がりが近づくにつれ、オーブンからいい香りが。
ドイツ人でもなかなかシュトレンは家で焼かないそうで、シュトレン作りは人生初！という方が多かったのですが、全員が失敗なく、見事なシュトレンが焼けました。
食べ頃は数日経ってからなので、自分で焼いたシュトレンはまだ自宅で寝かしてあります。食べるのが楽しみです！

参加者の皆さんは、またこういう企画があったら出たいです！と意欲満々のコメントをたくさんいただきました。
とっても楽しい異文化交流で、国籍や性別、世代等の壁を越えたネットワークができました。

On a sunny autumn day of Nov. 30th, an initiative group of Bosch Japan associates have held a cross cultural event called "Let's make Stollen together!" for Bosch associates and their family at National Women's Education Center in Saitama prefecture.

The purpose of this event is to know about different culture, to exchange with different people and to deepen understanding about others. Owner of this event was a cross cultural exchange team of "women@bosch" Japan which is a part of official network in Bosch worldwide. They promote working environment where diversity is respected.

"Stollen" is a German traditional fruit cake which contains dried fruit and nuts, usually eaten during Christmas season.

24 international participants from Japan, China, Vietnam and Germany enjoyed the event very much.

3 instructors (all Bosch associates) are almost professional (?!) in baking bread and contributed from the preparation to the clean-up of the room after the event and their explanation on how to bake Stollen was very easy to understand for the participants!

During the Stollen was in the ovens, we all made "omusubi" (rice ball) by ourselves for lunch. For many foreign associates, it was the first time to make "omusubi". Together with "omusubi", we enjoyed Japanese soup with a lot of vegetables fresh from the instructor's garden and hand made pickles from a participant.

Even for German participants, it seems that they don't usually bake Stollen at home.
There were many participants who is baking Stollen for the first time in their life, but everybody baked it successfully!

Participants gave us many positive feedback that they enjoyed the event very much and would like to join again if there is another one in the future. It was a great intercultural event which promoted exchange beyond barriers of gender, cultural background and ages.
