南ドイツの西にある古城街道の観光都市ハイデルベルク。こちらのフェイスブックをご覧の多くの方々には、お馴染みの観光ルートかもしれません。でも研究学園都市ハイデルベルクと言うと、ピンとこない、もしくは初めて耳にした方もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。
ハイデルベルクは研究者や大学生が多く住む、とってもアカデミックな街。中でも、ドイツで最も歴史のある「ハイデルベルク大学」は街の顔です。
そんな権威あるハイデルベルク大学には日本学の学科があり、多くの学生が日本の文化や言葉を学び、研究しています。2009年には会議通訳学科（欧州連合や省庁、民間企業等で働く通訳士を育成）に日本語通訳科が加わり、日本を深く学ぶ機会はさらに広がりをみせています。
私たちよりも日本文化に詳しい学生がいるかもしれないハイデルベルク。行かれる際は、日本文化の勉強をお忘れなく(笑)。

Heidelberg: you maybe know this city as one of the most popular cities in Germany for tourists from Japan, but did you know this city has the oldest university in Germany and has a long academic background? The university has section for Japanese study and "School of Translation and Interpreting" which offers trainings of conference interpreters for Japanese language. Many students are becoming specialists of Japan and Japanese language there.
We have an interview article in the following "Motor Sports Campaign" website with a Bosch associate who studied in Heidelberg. She told us about her impression of Heidelberg from a student point of view.
