アドベント（待降節）の始まりにあわせて、ドイツの多くの街で、クリスマスマーケットが開かれました。
現在ドイツに転勤中のボッシュ社員からさっそく、ボッシュの本社があるシュトゥットガルトのクリスマスマーケットの写真が送られてきましたのでご紹介します。

シュトゥットガルトの街の広場を中心に広がるこのクリスマスマーケットは、規模が大きくて300年以上の歴史を誇ります。

クリスマスマーケットは、小物や食べ物を売る温かい雰囲気のお店がたくさん出店し、暗く寒い季節の人々の生活の中に、明るく楽しい雰囲気をもたらします。

シュトゥットガルトのクリスマスマーケットでは、それぞれのお店の屋根の上のデコレーションも凝っています。
また、移動式のメリーゴーランドや観覧車も登場します。
写真は、鉄道模型と一緒にジオラマの中をミニ機関車に乗って走れるコーナーです。

クリスマスマーケットの名物といえば、グリューヴァインと呼ばれる温かい赤ワインのカクテル。赤ワインにシナモンなどの香辛料と砂糖等と加えて火にかけたもので、ドイツの冬の厳しい寒さに震えながらこのアツアツの飲み物を頂くと、至福の気分になれること間違いなしです。

勤めている人たちも仕事帰りに、また週末に家族と一緒に、街のクリスマスマーケットに寄り、クリスマスのプレゼントを買ったり、買い食いをしたり…とクリスマス気分を楽しみます。

A Japanese Bosch associate who is working at Bosch in Germany sent us some impressions from the Christmas market in Stuttgart!
It's called Weihnachtsmarkt in German and you see these markets in many towns and cities in Germany in the Christmas season. The Christmas markets brighten up the dark, cold season in Europe. Also in Stuttgart, where the Bosch head office locates, there is a Christmas market which is very large and has more than 300 years of history.
The decoration on the roof tops of the booths are impressive. As you see on the photo, Merry-go-round in this automobile city is of course the mobility version. Glühwein is the hot wine with some spices which makes you happy while you are enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and freezing at the same time.
