2011（平成23）年は「ボッシュ日本進出100周年」の節目にあたり、いろいろと記念事業を計画していました。
しかし、大きな悲劇が訪れます。忘れもしない3月11日。後に東日本大震災と名付けられた未曽有の大災害は、日本に深い悲しみを落としました。
ボッシュ・グループは、創業者ロバート・ボッシュの「社会奉仕」の精神に基づき、様々な100周年の記念イベントを取りやめその予算を被災地支援に充てることにしました。
支援の対象として、甚大な被害を受けた被災地のひとつである宮城県東松島市を中心とし、2011年から今も継続的に復興支援を行っています。
同市内の被災した保育所などの公共施設の代替として仮設コンテナハウス14棟、市公用車としてクリーンディーゼル乗用車6台、電動工具などの物資を寄贈するとともに、従業員による瓦礫撤去等のボランティア活動による人的支援も実施してきました。
また、毎年12月に社長のヘミング自らが継続的に参加し実施している保育所での「聖ニコラウス（ドイツのサンタ）がやって来た！」、咋秋2回目の実施となったシュトゥットガルト室内管弦楽団の一般の方々向けのコンサート、ドイツVfBシュトゥットガルトの岡崎慎司選手（当時）と酒井高徳選手による「サッカー教室in東松島」などのチャリティーイベントや、プロのインストラクターによる電動工具を使ったDIY木工モノづくり教室や地元の木材を地元の方々が利用し作る「復興”絆”木工プロジェクト」（http://www.okumatsusima.jp/kizuna/index.html）のお手伝いなど、現地の皆さまとの交流も行っています。

被災した方々が、平和で穏やかな日常を取り戻すことに、少しでも貢献できればと思います。

2011 was the 100th anniversary year of Bosch in Japan and we had prepared for many anniversary events during the year. But on the unforgettable 11.March, the tragic disaster happened.
Bosch Japan decided to cancel the events and utilize the budget for the relief activities of the affected area. The Bosch Group set Higashimatsushima City in Miyagi Prefecture as the main point of relief activities relating to the Eastern Japan Earthquake and is conducting continuous re-establishment/relief activities in the area.

In August 2011, the Bosch Group donated 14 facilities (300 units of container house) to be used as day-care centers and classrooms, six clean diesel passenger vehicles, and professional power tools. In addition, Bosch has provided regular personnel support, such as volunteers to dismantle the rubble. Charity events also continue to be carried out, such as "Soccer School in Higashimatsushima" with Mr. Shinji Okazaki and Mr. Gotoku Sakai of VfB Stuttgart (Germany), concerts for junior high school students and for the general public by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town - from Germany!" at a day-care center for children.

We would like to continue our relief effort to support people to take back peaceful days again.
